Silver and Kelly were revealed to be troubled by their mother's recurring issues with alcoholism. Like David and Kelly before her, Silver enrolled at West Beverly High, eventually gaining school-wide notoriety due to The Vicious Circle, a popular video blog in which she reports on the lives of those around her often by inserting digitized photos into animated shorts. Jackie became careless about her and didn't notice when she was not sleeping at home.ĭuring her early high school years, Silver developed a more reserved, somewhat irreverent side offset by a warmer nature hidden within. Silver needed to escape so as see her mother's drinking and to stop from fighting with her all the time. Things between Silver and her mother became complicated. This led Jackie to relapse and to start abusing alcohol again. Upon learning this, Silver eventually confided in her best friend, Naomi Clark, who told others, making Jackie aware of the situation. While Erin, going by Silver, was growing up, she became closer to Naomi and Adrianna. Her father Mel cheated on Jackie. Silver and Naomi Clark used to be best friends, but when Silver confided in Naomi about her father's affair, Naomi told the whole school, ending their friendship.
She published her own blog called The Vicious Circle, which she used to discuss intimate details (truth or fiction) about her peers at West Beverly. Erin Silver is a blunt, jaded and cynical teen, with bipolar disorder who feels like an outcast in high school.
